Our generation sorry to say is quickly becoming immune to the differentiation between ‘black and white’. For some reason, there’s no clear distinction between the two. We live in a world prone to accept shades of grey when it comes to making decisions. A “No” is no longer a clear distinct no… there’s always a maybe or how far can we go without getting into trouble. A “Yes” is no longer a clear yes; it comes with conditions to be fulfilled. Look around you and you will see-we are trying hard to deal with a menace that is spreading fast throughout an entire generation. One of the hardest things in life to do is to get rid of something you have over the years become attached to. Materially, I can bet that many of us currently have or at least had, at some point in time, something that they had become very fond of. Still, there could be a person that we are or were at some point in time fond off. For some it worked to their advantage as it brought forth their heart’s desire. For others, well... the story doesn’t end quite well and they would rather not even mention it or sense a hint of it. Nevertheless, no matter how young or old you may be, there’s always something or someone your heart may never quite release completely. Mirror mirror on the wall who’s the fairest of them all? You tell me… prepare to be surprised by the answer as we go along. It’s been a while since I actually sat down to jot down my thoughts; I can’t really state a specific reason to it… I guess like most people do at some point in their lives, they take time out of the usual to refresh themselves, think through their lives and spend time restructuring what seemingly was going down the drain- Its part of life. There are days everything seems to be looking up, others simply suck the life out of you and you are consumed in a dark cloud with nothing to look forward to. The good thing though is that it was a season; seasons come and go, you can’t lodge in a dark tunnel forever, if you still have some little faith in you, then there’s no doubt you will not settle for less than wanting to wake up from the nightmare into a glorious dawn. Four months down the road… I am excited. Thoroughly! I am actually making it through this season of my life. 2013, as one of my friends shared is for me a year of new beginnings. Every aspect of my life has changed. For some reason it feels more like a movie script. God inscribed season one, finished, and now He as at work writing season two (watch this space) At the beginning of it I was certain I wouldn’t make it past month one. Being in a foreign country, my mind was and still is sometimes preoccupied with thoughts of boarding the next plane and flying back home. (I even put aside a jar where I save money to pay for a return ticket). If you ask me why, I’m not too sure how I’d answer you, if at all I’d open my mouth to- I think I’d just smile, hoping you’d figure it out by yourself. The life within the unknown is one that gives you two options: one is to make the best of it. Two is to sit down and grumble, complain and believing an angel will come from heaven with good t
