SHOW ME MY WARRIOR!

It is in this quiet, still atmosphere
That I long to be in the company of someone dear
But every time I look around me, there is something I hear
A mysterious reverberation that inculcates my soul with fear
A cold shiver runs down my spine
The sound of a heart pounding so loudly, it can only be mine
The darkness descends
Tragedy is set to impend
And How I wish I could amend
All that’s about to transpire and bring it to an end
I long to ask, this one question
Hoping that someone would help and give me a solution
Not just for this very moment but the days to come
To ease the weight of them being burden-some
Show me my warrior, Show him to me
Show me the one man that will stand up against all adversity
Show me he who is ready to give up his all
No matter the day or time, he is geared up to take the fall
Show me my warrior, show him to me
Show me the one man that will not dwell only on building so called chemistry
Show me a warrior, bring him to me
Show me the one man that will look into my eyes, and not indirectly go to bed with me
Reveal to me I ask, the one willing to watch me catwalk
And still resist from giving me the smooth-talk
Show me a warrior, who will love me for real
By taking me in with my faults, and encouraging me to heal
The one man who will pursue righteousness as the real deal
And just to make me happy, would do anything even if it meant, to kill
He doesn’t have to be as tall and built on the outside like Shaquille O’Neal
Coz it’s his spirit deep within that is important, and God shall soon reveal
Show me my warrior, bring him to me
If you happen to sight him somewhere, bring him forth so that I can see
The one man that chooses to above all protect me and my heart
Treating both will delicacy and keeping them both as unique pieces of art
Not only for him but our Father up above
That knit our hearts to grow in love
Show me a warrior, bring him to me
The one man that knows my heavenly father, who must have sent him to me
He may be the usual tall, dark and handsome
Oh, wouldn’t that be just awesome
But the character within him is what matters the most
Coz you don’t spend the rest of your life with his physique alone
But what comes from his heart as well, and that’s the uttermost
Read Luke 2:52 and get a glimpse of what I mean
I at the moment will keep praying for my warrior, who at the moment remains unseen.

THE WHISPERS BEFORE THE SHOUT

Hey you! 😃 Has anyone checked in on you today? Or better still have YOU checked on you today, or lately? If not, well then this is a reminder to do so; to create time in your schedule to hold your heart, mind, body and soul as an offering to God in prayer and allow it to be searched, comforted, and mended so that you can operate wholly and holy. Quarter one of 2025 is coming to an end; a palpable shift hangs in the air with testimonies within it being starkly different. For some, the journey has been a smooth glide, a serene cruise through calm waters. For others, they are overwhelmed by life having launched into a sprint at the beginning of the year; and now, they are finding themselves breathless amidst a landscape of boundless potential. I discovered something interesting lately; while many of us are knowledgeable of the truth and necessity of slowing down, there is a fear and guilt attached to this God ordained activity called rest. We are afraid to rest because we fear that if we...

FLOW OR FLOAT?

A lesson I am learning, the older I grow, is that with discovery comes revelation, and revelation does not always soothe. I believe in the slow burn of human connection, not the fleeting flicker of a sprint. I take my time, extending the same patience and grace to others that I give myself in my own process of self-discovery. Sometimes, curiosity bubbles up, a genuine thirst to understand. Other times, my emotional and mental reserves are low, and I'm simply present, observing. But…intrigue me. Nudge the edges of my world with a spark of genuine interest, and you might just pique my curiosity. A "Hmmmm…who is this person?" moment might dawn, and the spotlight of my attention will shift your way. As we forge new connections in life, we are met with a mirror—not always a flattering one—that shows us how much we have changed, and perhaps, how much we still wish to. In that reflection, we see the vastness of who we are and the contradictions we carry. Self-awareness has unlo...

SERVING ON EAGLE'S WINGS

It’s funny, how much seems to come to life, when you sit back and observe people and things for a while. You never quite get to witness how life unfolds when you’re busy trying to make major ends meet. It’s understandable though, that’s just how the cookie crumbles these days. The hours of the day are filled with “busy bodies”, clogged minds trying to generate ideas while at the same time create solutions for problems that seem to be cropping up quicker than them. Life is a continuous evolution; not much appears to be the same. Though amidst the unending amendments it causes us to make, I still repeatedly find myself asking these questions, who I’m I? Why I’m I here? Where I’m I going? Sometimes I think I have the answer to these questions, though as life unfolds I then realize, only God has the answers. He will continually remind me who I am in Him. Even then, if I fall prey to trying too hard to be someone else, the reflection I get from His mirror of who I am defies all els...
