THROUGH THE LENS OF GRACE

This right here is a post I wrote on my wall a few days back… “I am probably going to be hated for saying this but for real it has to be addressed. It is sad and rather painful that of late, the trend has been, to celebrate more Baby showers BEFORE we celebrate Bridal showers. Where did we go wrong?” It doesn’t take a one-on-one appointment to have someone open up about their past. Try make a statement in relation to it and you will probably witness a side to them you never thought existed. It will then dawn on you that not everyone who has a glimmering smile on their face, a drop-dead gorgeous body and attractive personality, has been like that from the beginning.   There’s been a growing trend of more baby showers before bridal showers. Many have said its normal, others have said it’s worrying; others have insisted it’s the last days and we need to repent and turn from our wicked ways. In as much as I agreed, I was convinced I hadn’t yet received an appropriate answer. No

WHAT IS IT?... THE DISCOVERY

It’s not a common kind of adoration It’s unseen yet felt It’s hidden yet you still see it It’s promising It may be intangible But your belief in it brings you undying hope. It blooms from the ordinary surface Right through you innermost being It’s one of a kind… it’s unique. It’s genuine, it’s true It’s priceless, it’s pure It’s overwhelming, it’s accepting It desires to know the good Then accepts the past By presenting the fact… That you’re beautiful, and nothing, Absolutely nothing can ever change that. It seeks God It spells the G.O.D. in another And doesn’t discourse the ‘d.o.g.’ in them (MEN ARE NOT DOGS!) It’s comforting to the troubled soul Eases every bit of your mind It treats as Royalty Portrays servant leadership- full of loyalty. The lady waits to be found She doesn’t display her heart’s contents carelessly, all year round The man pursues whilst waiting to conquer He gives the ultimate respect due… that’s pro

SIMPLE LOVE RULES

“Knock, knock.” Who’s there? VALENTINE’S DAY! To some they’d go the extra mile to make their extra special person feel extra special on this day or season. To others, they care less that the world will be painted red and the words “I love you” will be exploited in all manner of ways; shapes and sizes. I sit in the middle of an empty room as I write this short piece-with nothing but soft sheets of moonlight soothing my weary soul. Life can be crazy-the last thing on my mind is to spend an extra dime or time on somebody-all in the name of Valentine’s Day. Did you ever notice it appears in the middle of the month just after you have squandered your first salary of the year? How sad! And if I don’t do something nice for my baby, it’s concluded, I probably don’t love you as much… really? Take a chill pill this valentine’s. Relax. That doesn’t mean you forget that this day exists on our calendar-it means, divert your worldly perspective on the “world-is-painted-red” season and pi

TALE OF WALLS

For every room, there’s a memory And for every memory emerges a story A tale of joy, a tale of pain An account camouflaged with endless tragedy, or one that’s simply plain. A portrayal of delight shared with one or more Or a representation of gloom behind its very door I cannot help but remember, In my forced isolation The image highlighted on those walls On every white wall, were stains… blemish that refuted effort to overlook them They looked repulsive But with a dead conscience, they suddenly felt attractive On the wall with the window Was a little light, that illustrated the curves of my shadow It was my only companion… silent, but true to me, with every tomorrow Behind me, is where it lay But within me, was a seclusion I fight ‘til today To my right, yet another wall I remember it… From it came the torment From it emerged the memory of sounds Sounds that once chocked me to death Echoes that caused me to literally lose my breath I b
